Migrated a static HTML business site to a fully managed WordPress deployment on AWS EC2, running Apache, MariaDB, and PHP on Amazon Linux 2023. The build included a custom-converted WordPress theme preserving the original design pixel-for-pixel, automated HTTPS via Let’s Encrypt, a dedicated least-privilege database user, and SSH access restricted by IP. Post-launch hardening covered a full EBS encryption retrofit on the production volume, dual-layer backup coverage (UpdraftPlus for content, AWS EBS snapshots for infrastructure), and a working contact form wired through Amazon SES — including full domain authentication (DKIM, SPF, DMARC) and approved SES production access for unrestricted email delivery. A data-handling defect in the contact form’s email pipeline was identified and resolved during testing. AWS Budgets was configured for ongoing cost monitoring, and the entire deployment process is documented in a maintained, versioned internal SOP.
